The Conservative Party has suspended their ex-deputy leader, Lee Anderson, as he refused to express remorse for his statements towards Sadiq Khan.

On Friday, the Ashfield MP who belongs to the Conservative party stated on GB News that the mayor of London was under the influence of "Islamists".

Mr. Khan replied on Saturday and expressed that the comments only added to the already existing anti-Muslim sentiments, making the situation worse.

According to Mr Anderson, his remarks have placed the chief whip and the Prime Minister in a challenging position.

Mr Anderson has been effectively removed from his party in Parliament by being stripped of the Conservative whip.

Less than 60 minutes after Mr. Khan's negative feedback, the representative for the Conservative Party's head enforcer Simon Hart declared: "As a result of his unwillingness to express regret for his previous remarks, Lee Anderson MP has had his Conservative whip suspended by the chief whip."

During an interview on GB News, Mr. Anderson stated that he does not think that Islamists have taken over our nation. However, he believes that they have exerted influence over Khan and London. Anderson claims that Mayor Khan has handed over the city to his acquaintances.

There was an increasing demand for Rishi Sunak to do something about the remarks made by the Ashfield MP following Mr Khan's accusation that the prime minister and his Cabinet were not saying anything about the issue.

Mr Anderson used to be one of the Conservative Party's deputy chairmen until January. However, he decided to step down from his position so he could stand up against the government on the issue of the Rwanda vote.

Mr Anderson shared his thoughts about losing the whip through social media. He stated that he spoke with the chief whip and realized how his remarks have jeopardized both the chief whip and the prime minister.

I completely understand that they were left with no choice but to withdraw their support in light of these conditions.

Nonetheless, I will persist in backing the administration's endeavors to denounce radicalism in every manifestation, whether that be hostility toward Jewish people or discrimination against Muslims.

On Saturday afternoon, Mr Khan replied to the remarks first made by Mr Anderson on GB News. Mr Khan labeled his comments as "Islamophobic, anti-Muslim, and racist."

Mr. Khan stated that these comments further ignite the flames of prejudice and discrimination against Muslim individuals.

The mayor of London expressed confusion as to why Rishi Sunak and other members of the Cabinet did not speak out against the comments or criticize them.

Criticism has arisen from some members of the Conservative Party towards Mr. Anderson's opening statements. This group includes Sir Sajid Javid, a former chancellor, who expressed that he finds the comments to be "ridiculous."

The MCB expressed approval of Mr Anderson's suspension, but also stated that they believe it should have occurred much sooner due to widespread outrage.

According to a representative of MCB, the Conservative Party is dealing with a problem of Islamophobia, and they must acknowledge it and take responsibility for it.
