The Tory party announced that Lee Anderson, their former deputy chairman, has been removed from his position due to his refusal to issue an apology regarding his comments directed at Sadiq Khan.

On Friday, the Member of Parliament from Ashfield who belongs to the Conservative party stated in an interview with GB News that the mayor of London was under the control of "Islamists".

Mr. Khan expressed his views about the comments on Saturday and stated that they will only aggravate the already existing issue of hatred towards Muslims.

If someone loses the Conservative whip, it means they are kicked out of their party in Parliament. This is what happened to Mr Anderson.

Less than 60 minutes after Mr. Khan's disapproval, a representative for Simon Hart, the chief enforcer of the Tory party, stated that due to his refusal to say sorry for his remarks from the previous day, the Conservative whip of Lee Anderson MP has been revoked.

During an interview on GB News, Mr. Anderson declared that he does not think that the Islamists hold power in our country, but he strongly believes that they've seized control of Khan and London. According to him, the mayor has surrendered the capital city to his acquaintances.

Rishi Sunak faced increasing pressure to address the remarks made by the Ashfield MP, following Mr. Khan's criticism of the prime minister and his Cabinet for staying silent.

Mr Anderson used to be one of the deputy chairmen of the Conservative Party until January. However, he gave up his position so that he could go against the government's decision on the Rwanda vote.

Since 2016, Mr Khan has been serving as the mayor of London, making him the inaugural Muslim leader to hold this prestigious post.

Mr Khan spoke out on Saturday afternoon in response to comments made by Mr Anderson that he deemed "discriminatory, derogatory, and prejudiced against Islam and Muslims".

Mr. Khan expressed that these statements only add to the already existing hostility towards Muslims.

The Mayor of London expressed confusion as to why Rishi Sunak and other members of the Cabinet were not speaking out against or denouncing the statements made.

Mr. Anderson's comments were met with disapproval from certain members of the Conservative Party, such as former finance minister Sir Sajid Javid who shared a video of Mr. Anderson's statements and commented that they were "absurd."
