Kylie Minogue Calls ‘Lights Camera Action’ On New Single

Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue's popular track "Padam Padam" emerged as the summer anthem last year, leading up to the launch of her fifteenth studio album, Tension, in September. Now, just a year later, the iconic pop diva is building on that success with a follow-up album titled Tension II, set to be released on October 18. To kick off this new chapter, Minogue has just dropped the lead single "Lights Camera Action," giving fans a preview of what's in store.

This year, Minogue has teamed up with artists like Sia, Orville Peck, Diplo, Bebe Rexha, Tove Lo, and The Blessed Madonna. However, in her latest track “Lights Camera Action,” she takes center stage on her own. In the song, she expresses a desire for excitement, singing lines like, “Tuning in, tuning out / All I want is the noise / Turn it up, turn it loud / Until there's no other option / We're embracing the wild side tonight / It's about to explode / Can you feel the energy?” She emphasizes the catchy phrase “Lights, camera, action, that's it.” While the song fits within the electropop vibe of her album Tension, it has a darker, late-night feel that could serve as a contrasting follow-up to the more upbeat initial release.

Following the conclusion of her initial residency in Las Vegas this year, the Australian sensation is preparing to hit the road next year with her Tension albums and a selection of her greatest hits spanning three decades for the Tension Tour.

"I'm incredibly thrilled to share the news of the Tension Tour 2025," the artist expressed in a statement. "I'm eager to create amazing and unforgettable experiences with fans around the globe, as we celebrate the Tension era and so much more. It's been an exciting journey up to this point, and now, prepare for your moment in the spotlight because I'll be shouting 'Lights, Camera, Action,' and there will be plenty of Padaming."

Tension II is set to come out on October 18. The Tension Tour will begin on February 15, 2025, in Perth and will conclude on June 2 in London.
