Killer Mike replied after he was arrested at the Grammys, only a few hours after receiving three awards.

After bagging the awards for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song for his track "Scientists & Engineers", Michael Render, popularly known as the rapper from Atlanta, was taken into custody in handcuffs.

Following a chaotic situation at the Los Angeles event, where Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish also won awards, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that the musician was taken into custody and charged with "misdemeanour battery" due to an altercation that took place behind the scenes at the Crypto.com Arena.

The person known as Killer Mile, who was taken away by authorities and later released, referred to their arrest as a minor obstacle. They stated that it did not affect their desire to continue celebrating.

During an interview on a radio program based in Atlanta, the rapper stated that they experienced a minor setback but quickly bounced back and continued to celebrate all night. They confidently declared themselves as champions and left it at that.

He conveyed through a statement on Pitchfork that the security during the event was too strict. He further added that several fans and colleagues contacted him and his team to know if he was safe. He expressed gratitude for their care and encouragement but affirmed that he is doing well.

He went on to say: "It was quite chaotic with numerous things happening simultaneously, and there was some uncertainty regarding the entry point my team and I should use. We were confronted by an excessively enthusiastic security guard, but we firmly believe that all accusations will be disproved and my name will be cleared."

Until then, continue to tune in to 'Michael' and pursue your aspirations.

Not long after being apprehended, Killer Mike took to Twitter to share news of his Grammy award victories: "DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE - I'VE CLEANED UP!"

As soon as he received his third accolade, the hip-hop artist hollered, "Clean sweep! Atlanta, we're sweeping!"

Speaking to the audience, he declared, "Don't tell me you're too old or it's too late to pursue your dreams. It's possible. This victory is a message to anyone who thinks rapping is a young person's game. We're keeping hip-hop alive and we must continue doing what we love."

Just before he was arrested, Render shared his thoughts backstage, stating: "The only thing that restricts your age is lying about it or the things you do."

When I turned 40, I began to come to terms with the remorse and mistakes in my life. By the time I reached 45, I started expressing myself through rap music. Now, at 48, I stand here as a person who understands deeply the pain caused by my past actions and feel compassion for it.

For a while, Render has been expressing his thoughts and concerns about challenges affecting African Americans, such as prejudice and violence from law enforcement authorities. He spoke up even more strongly during the Black Lives Matter demonstrations in Atlanta following the tragic passing of George Floyd in 2020.

Killer Mike shared that he is feeling well after his arrest at the Grammys and even expressed that he is doing more than just fine.

The 'Year of the Women' was evidenced by the recent Grammy Awards where female artists triumphed in the major categories. Render also achieved three wins, adding to the overwhelming female recognition of the evening. Taylor Swift made history, taking home the Album of the Year award for a record-breaking fourth time.

Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" won Song of the Year, whereas Miley Cyrus's "Flowers" took home Record of the Year.

Women took center stage during the live performances at the ceremony. A highly memorable moment was when Joni Mitchell, a celebrated singer-songwriter, took to the stage and received a standing ovation. Dua Lipa and Tracy Chapman also delivered electrifying performances. Chapman and Luke Combs teamed up for a duet performance of her hit song "Fast Car".
