Kate Beckinsale Calls Out Critics For ‘Constantly’ Accusing Her Of Getting Plastic Surgery
Kate Beckinsale claims that she has been a victim of persistent harassment from online trolls who falsely accused her of undergoing plastic surgery. The verbal abuse she received from these anonymous individuals was extremely hurtful and difficult to bear.
The prominent actress from Underworld made a heartfelt post on Instagram last weekend, addressing individuals on social media who had made assumptions about her having had plastic surgery.
I don't like discussing this topic, but I feel like it's necessary to address it. Constant and subtle acts of bullying can be draining, and I want to talk about it. To accompany my message, I posted an old video of myself and a recent one from a public event.
Kate has been dealing with rumors of getting plastic surgery since she turned thirty twenty years ago. She expressed that people keep accusing her of undergoing procedures that make her unrecognizable, using Botox and fillers, and being too obsessed with looking youthful. She finds this kind of behavior very exhausting and cruel as it's a subtle way of bullying someone.
The English actress shared that age has never been a major worry for her. She revealed that the loss of her father when she was still young made her more apprehensive of dying at an early age.
She stated that she struggled with intense anxiety and panic attacks from her teenage years to her mid-twenties, often fearing that she would succumb to a heart attack.
Kate mentioned that her look has changed over the years as a natural consequence of aging, and the innovation in makeup techniques. Subsequently, she urged her online detractors to abstain from making comments about her physical appearance.
She wrote that she is aware that her post will not have any impact but she still wants to share it. People continuously accusing someone of something they never did and giving high importance to youth over-rides the fact that people are trying to overcome the loss they have experienced. She states that this kind of behavior is a form of bullying and whoever is doing it should cease doing it.
The main thing I'm harassed for is the belief that I am unable to accept the concept of aging, which is paradoxical given that I was mainly afraid that I would not live to see my 30s. This is according to the Van Helsing actress.
Kate recently posted a public service announcement (PSA) several months after sharing a snapshot of herself being treated in a hospital bed back in March. However, she chose to keep the reason for her hospital stay under wraps at that time.
