During Sunday's match where Manchester United defeated West Ham 3-0, Roy Keane expressed his belief that Kalvin Phillips seemed slow and unenergetic.

Phillips had been on the sidelines at Manchester City for a year and a half when he decided to join West Ham on loan for the remainder of the season. David Moyes had always been impressed with the former Leeds player and was happy to bring him to his team.

During his second match for the Irons, Phillips took over for Vladimir Coufal at Old Trafford, with Manchester United already leading 2-0 due to goals scored by Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.

Erik ten Hag's team maintained a strong pace during the final stages of the match, resulting in a rare level of momentum for their season. They remained dominant and secured their win with a third goal, catching Phillips off guard.

Phillips got a pass from Ben Johnson and tried to protect the ball from Scott McTominay, who swiftly took control of it and passed it to Garnacho for his second goal of the day.

Roy Keane was not impressed with Kalvin Phillips' performance during the West Ham and Man United match, which ended in a loss for West Ham.

Phillips made a critical error when he entered the game, as he lost possession of the ball leading up to United's third goal.

Keane, in his post-game remarks, conveyed his perplexity about Phillips' motives while handling the ball.

"I'm not sure what Phillips is attempting to do," the commentator stated during the Sky Sports broadcast.

In my opinion, he seems slow. However, he deserves some consequences. McTominay impresses me with his perfect pass, resulting in the third goal.

In my opinion, he approached the situation in the wrong way. While we may try to justify his actions, his approach towards protecting others was incorrect. On the other hand, McTominay handled it well by being assertive. This ultimately led to the end of the game.

Last month, the Hammers acquired the services of a midfielder from Manchester City for the duration of the season through a loan agreement.

This event is another instance of the challenging beginning that the English player has faced while settling into East London.

Last Thursday, Phillips got his first opportunity to start in the Premier League from Moyes since the previous season's final match. The Hammers played host to Bournemouth.

After only three minutes of playing for West Ham, Phillips made a mistake and sent the ball in the wrong direction. Dominic Solanke quickly took advantage of the situation and scored a goal for the opposing team.
