Kalvin Phillips became upset with the negative comments coming from West Ham supporters after he experienced a terrible loan period from Manchester City that continued to get worse on Saturday.

The footballer who plays in the midfield position is struggling during his time with West Ham. He started playing for the team in January after leaving his previous team, who are the reigning champions. His contract gives him the option to stay with West Ham permanently, but he's been making a lot of expensive mistakes on the field. He's also been dropped from the England squad ahead of the Euro 2024 tournament that's happening this summer.

The most recent mistake occurred during the Premier League match at St James' Park over the weekend. West Ham was leading 3-1 against Newcastle with only 13 minutes remaining in the game. However, they unexpectedly suffered a total meltdown, resulting in a 4-3 loss.

Phillips once again had a poor performance as a substitute in the game on Tyneside. He gave away a penalty that led to the second goal for the home team, scored by Alexander Isak. Phillips committed the foul by bringing down Anthony Gordon in the penalty area.

During the Newcastle versus West Ham game, the referee awarded Newcastle a second penalty kick after a long VAR review. This caused disagreement from David Moyes, the manager of West Ham, who expressed his frustration towards the decision.

Phillips faced additional negative feedback from Hammers supporters who were present at the game. A fan was overheard calling him "ineffective" as he prepared to board the team bus at St James' Park for the return trip to London.

The 28-year-old man was caught on camera raising his middle finger in response to an incident that was later shared widely on social media. Standard Sport reached out to West Ham for a comment on the matter, but they chose not to respond.

Beforehand, Moyes acknowledged that bringing on Phillips to replace striker Michail Antonio with only 20 minutes remaining in the match versus Newcastle was not successful. However, he declined to blame Phillips and instead expressed frustration towards the penalty call.

According to the Scottish coach, the penalty kick was a significant shift in the game, but they also made a substitution because they believed the opposing team had gained momentum and failed to convert a few opportunities.

At the moment when we were leading 3-1, we decided to add another player to our midfield. We didn't want to take any risks and wait until our opponents score a goal and make it 3-2.

Maybe the decision was not successful at that moment, but I believe what really matters is that the lad named Gordon placed his foot ahead of Kalvin's, and it's confusing how the referee could have noticed Kalvin's leg.

After scoring the penalty kick and bringing the score to 3-2, things were going well for us. However, there were a few opportunities that we allowed the other team to have earlier on that I didn't approve of. They started to gain momentum shooting downhill, but it just seemed like it wasn't our day and luck wasn't on our side.

In different words, he mentioned about the Phillips substitution: "They had opportunities to score but I wanted to prevent our team from losing and I made the change to benefit us. We attempted to do it then, but unfortunately it didn't have the desired outcome."

I choose to refrain from discussing any particular player as it is not appropriate and goes against my moral beliefs.
