Florida rapper Julio Foolio dead, 3 others hospitalized after shooting at Tampa hotel near USF

In Tampa, Florida, there was a shooting that resulted in one fatality and three injured individuals being rushed to the hospital, as reported by the Tampa Police Department.

Authorities report that police officers were called to 11606 McKinley Drive following a 911 call reporting a shooting. The incident occurred at the group of hotels near USF at approximately 4:40 a.m.

When the police got there, they saw that two cars in the parking lot had been shot at. The authorities are looking into what happened before the shooting and trying to figure out who was responsible.

Per the authorities, it is suspected that the individual who passed away is 26-year-old Charles Jones, also known as the rapper Julio Foolio from Florida. The police are currently awaiting confirmation from the Medical Examiner's Office to officially identify the deceased individual.

Jones shared on his Instagram that he was in Tampa enjoying his birthday festivities before the incident occurred.

"Tampa Florida, you've officially been invited to the pool party," he announced in a video on Instagram.

He shared on social media on Saturday night that the police made them leave an Airbnb. As a result, he decided to relocate the party to a different place.

"Everywhere we go is so cool," he said in another Instagram post.

Tampa Police reported that two vehicles were fired upon. Authorities suspect that the cars belonged to individuals attempting to book a hotel room.

Julio Foolio's relatives looked on from the road as detectives gathered proof.

"I was really scared, to be honest. I had no idea what was happening. I never thought I would hear gunshots. It really shook me up," expressed a guest who preferred to remain anonymous.

The visitor informed FOX 13 that he heard several shots fired in the early hours of Sunday.

"I heard around two sets of gunshots. There were probably five shots in each set," he said.

As per the Tulsa Police Department, the three individuals who were transported to the hospital are currently in a stable state.

The inquiry into the matter is still in progress.
