John Cena gave a sincere thank-you speech to his fans in the wrestling world on Saturday night. He shared that he will be retiring from the sport after next year's WWE WrestleMania.

At a recent event in Toronto, Cena announced his plans for the future to a displeased audience. The fans showed their disapproval by booing as the former wrestler revealed his decision to retire officially. Cena also shared that he will be going on a farewell tour in the upcoming year.

"I will retire after the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania," Cena stated.

At the end of a speech that lasted over six minutes, the crowd started chanting "Thank you, Cena." He described it as a "remarkable show of generosity."

"I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time in the home you worked hard to build over the years," Cena expressed. "Your strong voice and candid honesty have always been appreciated and admired."

John Cena has won the WWE championship 16 times in almost 20 years with the wrestling company. During this period, he has also moved into the world of Hollywood, acting in movies like “Barbie” and “Argylle” and appearing in various "Fast & Furious" films.

Despite his accomplishments in acting, Cena has continued to maintain his presence in the world of wrestling. He recently explained his decision to take a break during the WWE "Money in the Bank" event he was attending.

"Why now? Because it's a guaranteed way to make money, the best representation of potential," Cena explained. "And this goodbye isn't just the end for tonight - it's full of chances."

He mentioned that the Monday-night fights of WWE's "RAW" are now available on Netflix, a significant milestone for the franchise. Cena will mark not only new beginnings but also the end of an era with these latest developments.

Cena hinted at exciting matches by challenging other WWE superstars, saying, "If you think you can handle it, come and face me."

Cena stated that the previous occurrence is happening currently.

During a press conference after the show, Cena announced that he will continue to be a part of WWE and that WrestleMania won't be his last match. He mentioned that he plans to have a farewell tour with many dates scheduled from January to December 2025, culminating in his final match in the ring.

Cena explained to the press that he suggested a strategy that would allow him to remain involved with the franchise in various roles, despite no longer participating in competitions.

"I've always told the fans that WWE is like my family and I really enjoy being a part of it," Cena shared. "Even though my body may be telling me it's time to stop, it doesn't mean I have to walk away from something that means so much to me."
