Debbie Duncan shared with the Guardian that she continues to believe that something suspicious may have happened to her son.

She traveled to the Spanish island on Tuesday, the day after the 19-year-old disappeared, in order to assist in the search for him.

This past Saturday marked the sixth day of searching efforts for Mr. Slater. Police, rescue canines, and firefighters assembled once again at Rural de Teno Park, the spot where Mr. Slater's phone was last traced.

Ms Duncan informed the Guardian that the authorities have expressed concerns that the public attention on the case is hindering their investigation. However, she remains optimistic that they are intensifying their efforts in searching for clues.

There have been reports of unauthorized access to Mr. Slater's Instagram account by an unknown individual.

Rachel Louise Harg created a GoFundMe page to support the search efforts and a Facebook page to aid in the search, which had accumulated over £26,000 of its £30,000 goal by Saturday afternoon.

She stated that individuals who had been "breaching" the social media accounts of Mr. Slater's family were "mentally unwell".

Ms Duncan mentioned that the police had informed her that they were exploring all possible leads.

"They have all the blueprints and know where everything is located," she said.

They had a map that they showed us, with different colors shading different areas.

She asked again for British police to assist in the search, noting a difficulty with the language differences.

However, the police in Spain have declined a proposal from Lancashire Constabulary to help. The police force stated that the situation is not within the jurisdiction of UK law enforcement, but they are willing to provide assistance to the Spanish police if they require extra resources.
