The ex-partner of singer James Morrison died by suicide after facing mental health issues, as revealed in an inquest.

Gill Catchpole, a 45-year-old woman, was discovered deceased by Mr. Morrison at her residence in Whitminster, Gloucestershire, on the 5th of January.

The authorities were contacted and medical professionals confirmed her death at 9:37 GMT.

Local coroner Roland Wooderson determined that the cause of death was suicide at Gloucestershire Coroner's Court last Thursday.

Detective Sergeant David Kania, who looked into the unexpected death, determined that there was no involvement from anyone else, as revealed during the inquest.

He said: "There were no indications of any disruptions or outside interference."

In a written message, Doctor Emma Basker, who is a General Practitioner, mentioned that Ms. Catchpole had experienced frequent mental health issues, such as anxiety and PTSD. She had been prescribed medication, attended counseling sessions, and received psychological therapy.

In the toxicology tests, it was discovered that there was 190mg of alcohol in every 100ml of blood. The legal limit for alcohol consumption while driving is 80mg per 100ml of blood.

During the investigation, the toxicologist couldn't determine if or to what extent alcohol had affected Ms. Catchpole's state of mind when she died.

In his final statement at the investigation, Mr. Wooderson stated: "It appears obvious to me that, unfortunately, Gill was struggling with her mental health at that time."

"After examining all the available evidence, it appears to me Unfortunately that the most likely outcome I will document is a conclusion of suicide," he stated.
