Authorities have confirmed that a female in her 40s passed away at a music festival campsite.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police received a call at 10:51 BST on Thursday regarding a unexpected death at the Isle of Wight Festival grounds in Newport.

Police believe the woman's death is not suspicious and her family has been notified.

The organizers of the festival expressed their sadness about the death of a person who attended the event.

They also said: "Our hearts and sympathies go out to her loved ones."
