Ikram Aliskerov issues statement after brutal knockout loss to Robert Whittaker at UFC Saudi Arabia

Ikram Aliskerov

Ikram Aliskerov does not feel any remorse.

This previous Saturday, Aliskerov filled in last minute to fight Robert Whittaker in the headline match of the UFC's first event in Saudi Arabia. Initially scheduled to fight Antonio Trocoli a week prior at UFC Vegas 93, this was a bold move for Aliskerov that unfortunately didn't pay off. Whittaker easily defeated the Dagestani fighter, ending the match in less than two minutes with a devastating knockout.

However, Aliskerov states that he does not have any remorse about taking action, regardless of the outcome.

Praise be to God, I have no excuses. I have no regrets about my recent experience facing one of the top competitors in the sport. I am still young, and I will focus on correcting my mistakes, learning from them, and getting back into the game as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of support.

Praise be to God, I won't make any excuses. I have no regrets. It was a valuable learning experience going up against one of the top competitors in the sport. I am still young, and I will focus on improving my weaknesses, gain knowledge, and return to the game in the near future. Thank you to everyone for the supportive messages.

31-year-old Aliskerov, a former champion in combat sambo, is considered a top contender in the middleweight division. He had two strong wins in his UFC debut in 2023, defeating Phil Hawes and Warlley Alves with knockouts. However, his loss to Whittaker was his first in the UFC and only the second of his career, after being knocked out by Khamzat Chimaev in Brave FC in 2019.
