Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt were only 16 years old when they were found in the East Bay area of San Francisco. Since then, Green Day has sold over 20 million copies of their album Dookie and 16 million copies of American Idiot, inspiring many other bands to mimic their catchy pop-punk style.

Their current tour is named after their latest album, Saviours, whose cover features a modified image captured on Falls Road in Belfast during the Troubles.

Those attending the concert are advised to budget an additional three hours for travel to and from the location. The event organizers anticipate delays and recommend that attendees utilize the designated transportation options provided.

Travel on the Luas green line from the downtown area to either Dundrum or Balally, which are both a 35-minute walk from Marlay Park. There will be a shuttle bus running every 30 minutes from 3:30pm from Dundrum Luas station to Marlay Park. Tickets can be bought from Marathon. You can also purchase a combined ticket for parking at Dundrum Town Centre and the shuttle bus from Marathon.

Traveling by car to Marlay Park may be a challenge due to limited parking availability and road closures on the day of the event. It is advised to pre-book a parking spot for €25 at the designated car park entrance on College Road via Whitechurch Road. If you haven't pre-booked, an alternative option is to use the SuperValu car park on Ballinteer Avenue for drop-off and collection. Only those with pre-booked parking will be allowed to park at Marlay Park on the day.

By taxi: After the concert, there will be a designated area for passengers to be picked up on Brehon Field Road. But keep in mind that organizers can't promise there will be taxis waiting, so it's better not to rely on rickshaws for transportation.

People going to concerts at Marlay Park are being told not to park illegally in nearby areas, like neighborhoods or outside people's homes. Parking rules will be enforced and cars could be clamped or towed.

Currently, there is a small possibility of rain on Thursday, but things could change. However, it looks like there will be some sunshine in the evening with temperatures ranging from 11-18 degrees. Because the event is outdoors, make sure to dress for any type of weather - consider wearing wellies, boots or sneakers, layers, raincoats or ponchos, and sunscreen. Just keep in mind, umbrellas are not allowed.
