Stephen Way provided unwavering support to Gloria Hunniford during the difficult period after her daughter Caron Keating passed away.

The rich entrepreneur was willing to do whatever it took to make the experienced presenter's life easier during a difficult time, because he believed that the person who needed help the most should be the top priority.

Following the funeral of Gloria's much-loved daughter in 2004, who passed away at the age of 41 from breast cancer after a seven year struggle with the illness, it was Stephen who held Gloria's hand tightly, offering comfort and support, as they left the church.

Gloria, who is 84 years old, married the businessman in 1998. After his death at the age of 85, she expressed that Stephen's absence would be greatly felt not just by her, but by their whole family.

She said: 'Stephen was a kind and influential man, who will leave a huge absence in my life and in our whole family.'

Caron, who followed in her mother's footsteps as a TV presenter, passed away at the age of 41 after fighting breast cancer privately for seven years.

Gloria and Stephen showed up at the Woman of the Future Awards held at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London in 2007.

He was a very kind, giving, and compassionate man, with a charmingly unusual sense of humor that lasted until the very end.

Our 25-year marriage was filled with joy and excitement as we shared many unforgettable moments that will always hold a special place in my heart.

Gloria talked openly about her marriage to Stephen during an interview for Yours magazine in 2022 as they prepare to mark their 25th wedding anniversary.

She stated that love is not just about instant chemistry or physical intimacy. It's about discovering a partner who will be there for you and who you will still enjoy being with even after 25 years.

Throughout the covid pandemic, the couple stayed home in Kent because Gloria was at risk of developing diabetes and her husband was still recovering from health problems from the year before. They needed to be cautious for their health and safety.

They would relax in bed and catch up on the news in the mornings, then head to their grandchildren's treehouse for a refreshing gin and tonic later in the day.

In an interview with the Express, she mentioned feeling trapped like a wild animal during the first week of lockdown. She admitted that she knows the reasons for the lockdown, but she's not used to restrictions on her freedom.

But now that I've been stuck at home, I've had to adjust to a slower pace. I no longer wake up early, instead I stay in bed and catch up on the news. I spend my time leisurely working in the garden, and before I know it, it's already 3pm. Time seems to be passing by quickly.

They got married in St Peter's church in Hever, a town in Kent, in September 1998. Their wedding reception was held at Hever Castle and they went to Italy for their honeymoon. The bride arrived at the church in a carriage pulled by horses, James Galway performed Danny Boy, and Cliff Richard read a passage from the Bible.

Gloria shared with the Mail in 2003 that Stephen expressed his deep love for her, saying he was completely smitten and wanted to protect her by building a wall around her.

We were only friends and he would always ask: "When are we going to make it official?" Then, while I was working in Dublin, Stephen visited and we finally got together.

Today, Stephen's family announced that he passed away and shared their sadness. They paid tribute to him, remembering Stephen as Gloria's beloved husband who fought bravely until his last moments.

Stephen bravely battled his illness, showing great determination and a positive attitude throughout.

Stephen was called a great husband, dad, and granddad. Hunniford said she was very surprised and couldn't find the right words to express how sad she was.

A brilliant light that used to shine so brightly has now faded, and he will be greatly missed in every moment.

Stephen was the one to tell Gloria about her ex-husband Don Keating's passing after she finished hosting a TV talk show in 1997, she shared that information in that year.

Mr. Keating was discovered deceased by a close companion while sitting at his dining table, with his meal and a goblet of wine placed in front of him.

When Gloria and Stephen began their relationship, he was the owner of a hair salon located on New Bond Street in Mayfair.

Gloria and Stephen met at a gathering in London and later tied the knot in Kent in 1998, just one year after Mr. Keating passed away.

Gloria Hunniford was previously married to Don Keating, who passed away in 1997. In 1998, she tied the knot with Mr. Way.

She shared before that Stephen asked her to marry him while they were on vacation in Barbados. They were at their villa when she found herself having trouble in the pool because she had never learned to swim when she was younger.

Gloria shared with the Belfast Telegraph in 2017: 'I have a memory of playing around when I was about six or seven, falling into the water with all my clothes on, and emerging for the third time thinking it was the end for me.'

Later, Stephen and I were in Barbados, where we had the pool all to ourselves. The weather was scorching hot, and Stephen kept teasing me to join him in the water.

I did a few strokes and then suddenly went plop, straight down into the water. Stephen mentioned that no one had ever held onto him so tightly before. It was the first time he saw me appearing vulnerable, so he decided to ask me to marry him.

Last May, Stephen shared that he was partially blind because he lost vision in his right eye after having a second stroke.

He explained that he woke up one morning and noticed there was blood in his eye. He mentioned that he was managing well, but the situation was confusing.
