Hunniford received a heartfelt reception when she returned to Loose Women on Monday after the passing of her husband, Stephen Way. However, some viewers expressed concern for Hunniford, noting that she appeared to have lost weight since her previous appearance on the show.

Hunniford mentioned that even though she was still in mourning, the changes in her appearance were solely due to the stress of caring for Way during his illness, and not because she was dealing with any health issues herself.

Host Charlene White explained, "Grief can manifest in various forms, including physical changes. If anyone notices that you've lost some weight since your last visit and starts to worry about your health, could you clarify that for them?"

Hunniford said, "It's clear that when your partner is unwell, the stress and concern can lead to weight loss since you don’t focus on eating properly and your thoughts are constantly on them. But I'm doing well, thank you very much. My two sons keep an eye on what I eat when they come to see me. They often remind me, 'You haven't finished your chicken.'"

Work is something I understand well and enjoy; it's familiar territory for me. But when it comes to emotions and sadness, I often feel lost. That's why I'm truly happy to be back."
