Stephen had been bravely battling his sickness... but always with strong determination and a positive attitude.

Hunniford spoke about her husband, describing him as a kind and strong man. She expressed how his absence will be deeply felt by her and their family.

He was a very nice, giving, and loving man with a wonderfully unique sense of humor that he kept until the very end.

We were married for 25 years and had a lot of fun and memorable experiences that I will always treasure.

Gloria Hunniford and Stephen Way recently marked a milestone by commemorating 25 years of marriage together.

Way was known as a fantastic husband, father, and grandfather, according to Hunniford. She shared that his sudden passing has left her deeply saddened and unable to fully express her emotions.

A brilliant light has faded, and we will feel his absence in every aspect of life.

In May, Hunniford talked about a stroke that her husband had in 2014 and advised people to learn more about the warning signs.

While chatting on the Loose Women show, Hunniford mentioned a memory of preparing for work when her husband unexpectedly entered the room.

Gloria recently shared about her husband's stroke that occurred in 2014.

She said, "A car was waiting to pick me up for filming outside our house, and my beloved husband Stephen stumbled into the room."

I inquired about the situation, and he mentioned that his arm felt numb like a marshmallow and he had no sensation. This alarmed me because there had been previous instances of strokes in my family. I advised him to lay down on the bed. Quickly, I went to my neighbor's house and called my doctor, who instructed me to take him to the hospital right away.

Rather than waiting for an ambulance, Hunniford quickly placed Way in the waiting car and they hurried to the hospital as quickly as possible.

She also mentioned that when you go to the emergency room, you may have to wait a while. However, if you tell them that your husband is having a heart attack or a stroke, they will treat you immediately.

"They were very smart, but the doctor kept reminding me how much time had passed since they last experienced it. I want to find a way to give them something, do something, help them somehow."

He repeated his question, and after about two and a half hours, he asked again. I was becoming increasingly irritated. Then he clarified that four hours is the maximum time for treatment to be effective.

The family of Stephen Way issued a statement regarding his passing.

Hunniford recommended taking someone suspected of having a stroke to the hospital promptly.

I think that injection probably saved his life. But they asked the patient if he wanted the injection to break up the blood clot. He didn't seem able to answer, but the nurse insisted he needed it because his leg was getting worse.

The couple marked their silver wedding anniversary last year and shared with Hello! about the touching event: "I recall entering the church, surrounded by loved ones and the glow of the candles - it was truly magical."

We have always mentioned that we wish we could relive it all. While there is obviously a strong physical connection, our relationship is built on kindness and laughter. We love conversing with each other. Communication is key and we cherish it.
