Giovanni Pernice will not return to Strictly Come Dancing
Giovanni Pernice has been a professional dancer in the popular television show Strictly Come Dancing since 2015.
The BBC didn't reveal the celebrity as one of their professional dancers for 2024, after rumors circulated that the celebrity was opting out of the competition.
The 33-year-old professional dancer from Italy has participated in the celebrity dancing competition on BBC One since 2015. She recently emerged victorious in 2021 alongside actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
He has recently confirmed reports about his teaching methods on the show, despite having denied them weeks beforehand.
Pernice was taken aback by claims about how he teaches dance, and denied any claims of being abusive or intimidating.
The upcoming autumn show will see the return of various dancers, including Amy Dowden. She had opted out of the previous season to undergo treatment for cancer.
The law firm Carter Ruck informed the BBC of various significant grievances about Pernice's supposed actions on the set of Strictly last month.
At that moment, the BBC released a statement regarding "media accounts of a widely-known program", which is believed to involve Strictly Come Dancing.
The statement assured that it would address all grievances in a considerate, equitable, and empathetic manner for everyone involved, in response to allegations regarding Pernice's instructional approach.
Pernice was teamed up with performer Amanda Abbington for the upcoming series that will take place in 2023.
The occurrence happened right after the Italian celebrity released an announcement expressing his eagerness to prove his innocence and expressing gratitude towards his followers for their backing.
If you've been keeping up with my experience on Strictly Come Dancing for the past 10 years, you'll be aware that I have a strong drive and a desire to win.
I have the most drive when it comes to advancing the skills of my dance partners.
From the beginning, it has been my goal to assist them in becoming the most exceptional dancers they can be. My intentions have always been rooted in affection and the desire to succeed, both for myself and those with whom I dance.
Last year, the Italian celebrity was partnered with Amanda Abbington, who is known for her role in the TV series Sherlock. However, she withdrew from the contest and stated that her reasons were personal.
Many media outlets shared that Abbington had faced challenges with Pernice, though she has not verified this information with BBC News.
Amy Dowden Thankful For Return
On Monday, Dowden conveyed her joy and appreciation for returning through a message on Instagram.
She found a lump in April 2023 and was later diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
Following her mastectomy surgery, she was informed of the spreading tumours and diagnosed with a new form of cancer in July of last year.
Amy Dowden joined the cast of Strictly in the year 2017.
Despite being unable to perform her usual role as one of the professionals on the program last fall, Dowden made a surprising return to the show in October when she read the rules and regulations for voting on the show.
After that, the person who is currently 33 years old from Caerphilly participated in the ultimate episode of the program.
Earlier this year, Dowden expressed her desire to return to the Strictly dance floor as quickly as possible following a medical check that revealed no signs of disease.
The next installment of Strictly will feature a group of highly skilled professional dancers, including the likes of Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, and reigning champ Vito Coppola. All have confirmed their involvement in the show.
This year, the show celebrates its 20th anniversary, and the BBC guarantees an impressive array of dazzling moments, extravagance, and remarkable appearances.
In addition, there is going to be a special episode that will showcase the last 20 years of the show, including popular performances and conversations with previous celebrity guests, skilled dancers, and judges.
Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton Du Beke are set to make a comeback as judges.
Currently, Pernice is performing on tour alongside Du Beke.
The duo, who have co-presented a TV program about traveling, are scheduled to perform live at the Beck Theatre in Hayes in the upcoming week.
