The BBC has disclosed the trained performers for its upcoming series of the dancing tournament, however, Pernice's identity is not listed beside his co-workers on the program.

The 33-year-old accomplished dancer from Italy has been a part of the program since 2015, where he made it to the final round with the actress from Coronation Street, Georgia May Foote.

As the 20th anniversary of the show approaches, it is facing controversy due to allegations made by past celebrity participants regarding Pernice's conduct and instructional techniques. Amanda Abbington, who was scheduled to dance with Pernice in 2023, withdrew from the competition, citing reasons that are personal.

Soon after, she asked for video footage of her rehearsals with Pernice that was reportedly filled with tension and requested it for an investigation. Recently, Abbington criticized Pernice again in an interview with the Daily Mail, claiming he was dreadful towards some ex-competitors.

The show lineup for the next season has revealed some familiar faces from Strictly, such as Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, and Gorka Marquez.

Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola are all part of the team, while Pernice is absent.

There are other celebrities who have reported facing difficulties while being paired up with Pernice.

In March, there were claims that Ranvir Singh, host of Good Morning Britain, and Laura Whitmore, formerly of Love Island, had an emotional meeting with Abbington. This was due to their shared negative experiences with the dancer, who is known to be very intense during training. Previously, Whitmore had expressed feeling uncomfortable around Pernice.

Beforehand, the Italian performer refused the accusations of "harassing or intimidating conduct" and stated that he was excited to "prove my innocence".

During the month of May, he expressed in writing, "It came as a shock to me as much as it will to you that news regarding my methods of teaching dance has surfaced in the media this week." He proceeded to illustrate how devoted and determined he was during his participation in the competition, describing himself as "enthusiastic" and "driven."

He expressed that he has consistently aimed to assist them in becoming the most exceptional dancers they can be. His motivation has always originated out of love and a desire for triumph, for both himself and his dance companions.

A law firm called Carter-Ruck has given a comment saying that many important complaints have been made to the BBC. The BBC is now doing research to find evidence about these complaints.

As the situation is still in progress, we cannot provide any additional information at this point.

Amid the current argument, Pernice has received encouragement from his enthusiasts and one of his ex-Strictly celeb partners, Debbie McGee. Pernice and McGee paired up for the show back in 2017. In January, she expressed that working with him during her time on the program was a joyous experience.

In the year 2021, Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis both won the glitterball trophy. Pernice also made it to the final in 2017 with partner McGee and in 2018 with partner Faye Tozer, coming close to winning with Foote as well.

The Independent reached out to Pernice and the BBC to get their response.

In the coming autumn, the television show Strictly Come Dancing will make its return. Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke will once again be seated as judges.
