Gavin Plumb, aged 37, stood trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday. He had been accused back in October of asking someone to commit murder, encouraging kidnapping, and urging someone to commit rape.

Alison Morgan KC, who is prosecuting the case, informed the jury about the security officer's previous run-ins with the law. These include incidents such as tying a teenage girl's hands with rope and tape and attempting to kidnap women on a train while threatening them with a gun. According to Morgan, these past actions demonstrate that the security officer understands how to scare and control women.

The 37-year-old is charged with planning together online with another man, urging him to come from the US to the UK to commit the supposed crimes, and developing a thorough strategy, which includes putting together a kit for kidnapping and restraint.

Plumb, from Harlow, Essex, insists that he did not commit any of the alleged offenses.

Ms Willoughby has chosen to reveal her identity in relation to an accusation against Plumb of aiding or abetting rape.
