Tom King alive in Emmerdale twist – what does this mean for Belle?

Emmerdale

This article addresses the topic of domestic abuse, including manipulative behaviors, which may be distressing for some readers.

In a shocking turn of events during tonight's episode of Emmerdale (September 27, 2024), it was disclosed that Tom King, played by James Chase, managed to live through a brutal axe attack to his back.

When Tom confronted his estranged wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper), pursuing her with the intent to shoot, she defended herself by stabbing him with an axe before escaping. She then informed Lydia (Karen Blick), Sam (James Hooton), and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) about the incident.

When Lydia unexpectedly decided that the Dingles should relocate Tom's body and create an excuse for Belle, Sam and Vinny got ready to handle the unsettling job. However, upon entering the apartment where Belle had left Tom, they discovered it was completely vacant!

Lydia pushed Sam and Vinny to locate Tom and prevent him from contacting the police regarding Belle's behavior. However, Tom was discovered unconscious by Dr. Liam Cavanagh, who promptly called for an ambulance and informed Jimmy King.

Vinny and Sam made their way to the hospital, pretending to be worried, while Lydia attempted, but couldn’t succeed, in preventing Belle from hurrying there on her own. Reports indicated that Tom was suffering from a collapsed lung and internal bleeding, and he had just been taken for a scan.

Belle reached the hospital just as Tom's life was still uncertain, and she came to a grim understanding. If Tom didn’t pull through, it would mean she had caused his death. On the other hand, if he did survive, he would make sure to make her pay for what had happened. Regardless of the outcome, her life was bound to be shattered.

"He's won, right?" Belle said confidently. So, what lies ahead for Belle? Will she end up serving time for defending herself, or will the Dingles come to her aid?
