Happy Diwali - Student News
The Krishna Consciousness Society (KCSoc) extends warm wishes for a joyful and joyous Diwali to everyone. According to Eastern thought and philosophy, every person is a unique and integral part of the beautiful universe that surrounds us.
It is often mentioned that our true nature is eternal, full of knowledge, and inherently joyful. However, at times, the pressures and distractions of the material world can make us feel disconnected from this joyful state, leading to feelings of anxiety and suffering.
Diwali, along with other significant festivals, offers us an opportunity to reflect on our joyful lives. Known as the festival of lights, it involves the tradition of lighting lamps, which represents the removal of ignorance through the bright light of knowledge.
Genuine understanding involves recognizing our identity and origins. Diwali offers us the opportunity to reflect on our lasting connection with the divine and to reestablish our link with our higher selves through different practices, commonly referred to as “Bhakti” or Devoted Service.
We wish that this Diwali brings everyone the opportunity to celebrate with their loved ones, casting aside the shadows of ignorance, and enjoy a day filled with heartfelt devotion and joy.
