Dawn Hollyoak: Great British Bake Off star dies aged 61

The celebrities from the popular TV show Great British Bake Off have honored the late contestant Dawn Hollyoak, who passed away at 61 years old.

The baker appeared on a popular TV show on Channel 4 in 2022, and unfortunately was eliminated as the sixth contestant from the competition.

The sad news of her passing was shared on her Instagram page, revealing that she was not just a skilled baker but also a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend.

At sunrise, Dawn peacefully left us with her family by her side. We will always remember her, but we vow to carry on her tradition of baking.

Judge Paul Hollywood expressed his sympathy, saying: "I am saddened by this news, please send my love to the family. She was a wonderful woman."

Carole Edwards, who was a contestant on the same show as Ms. Hollyoak, expressed that she would deeply miss her friend.

She said: "A wonderful and gifted woman in every way, soar high my friend, life will never be the same without you."

Other beginner bakers who were on the show with her also shared their thoughts, like Maxy Maligisa, who expressed: "We will miss Dawn greatly. The times we had together are memories that I will always hold close to my heart xx."

Janusz Domagala expressed: "I have nothing but love for you."

Giuseppe Dell'Anno, the champion of the 2021 series, expressed deep sadness upon hearing the news. He remembered being amazed by her happy character and her contagious smile.

"She will be deeply missed, but will always remain in the hearts of those who cared for her!" he remarked.

Ms. Hollyoak, a mother of three, was a contestant on the show at the age of 60. She referred to herself as an "artist both inside and outside of the kitchen," as stated on the show's official website.

On her profile page, it mentions that Dawn enjoys creating illusion cakes that seem impossible, preferring quirky and detailed designs that showcase her creativity.

She takes pride in her precise hand and close focus, especially when it comes to the delicate lace patterns on cookies.

After she left the show, she mentioned: "I don't want to cry about it because it was such a wonderful experience."
