Residents of Devon and Cornwall have been participating in various challenges throughout the area to gather donations for BBC Children in Need.
The organization seeks to enhance the well-being of underprivileged children and youth throughout the UK.
A student from a school in Devon is participating in a drum marathon, where they will be drumming non-stop for 12 hours.
Alfie, a 10-year-old from Plymouth, began playing with his classmates at 08:30 GMT.
His mother, Karen, expressed her excitement, stating, "I’m thrilled for him as this is a dream he has had for quite a while - I really hope he succeeds."
Even before we purchased a drum kit for him, he was constantly making music. No matter where he was, whether at the dinner table or elsewhere, he would tap his feet and hands rhythmically.
Various music ensembles, such as the Plymouth City Brass band, are joining in to help raise funds for Alfie.
His school described Alfie as a "highly skilled and committed" student, with a concert scheduled to happen soon.
"It mentioned that he is preparing for his grade eight drumming exam and is looking for a creative way to fundraise for Children in Need."
The BBC Cornwall swimming team finished the challenge in just four days.
Earlier this month, a group from BBC Cornwall and BBC Devon took on a 24-mile (39 km) swimming challenge to raise funds for Children in Need.
Teams from all BBC local radio stations collectively swam 1,000 miles (1,609 kilometers) to fundraise for charity.
The Cornwall team, consisting of Julie Skentelbery, Hannah Stacey, David Dixon, Lou Symons, Daphne Skinnard, and Francesca Carpenter, ventured into various pools spread throughout the county.
Devon's group of five—Caroline Densley, James Vickery, Charlotte Cory, Lucy Bolt, and Caroline Adams—also started their swim on November 4. Both teams successfully covered the distance in under four days.
In celebration of Children in Need day, students at Perranporth Primary School participated in a "PerranPudsey" run while wearing their pajamas.
Principal Alister Johnson remarked, "Every student will participate in a thrilling fun run around the school grounds."
They have all received sponsorship and managed to collect a significant sum of nearly £4,000.
