Children in Need: Grandmother knits Pudsey jumpers to raise money
A grandmother has crafted and sold over 50 Pudsey sweaters this year to help raise funds for Children in Need.
Judith Smith, a resident of Kings Hill, Kent, began knitting jumpers for charity during the lockdown in 2020. Since then, she has sold over 80 jumpers and has raised nearly £1,000.
She shared, "I handed one over on Sunday, and the woman was incredibly thrilled with it. Others expressed their gratitude and understand the effort that goes into making them."
Ms. Smith shared that creating a children's sweater takes a few days, while producing one for an adult takes about a week. However, she has only knitted a full-sized sweater once before.
Ms. Smith mentioned that she has chosen 2024 as the final year for selling the charity sweaters.
"I love the process of knitting sweaters, and every dollar I make from it goes to support Children in Need."
She said, "I really enjoy seeing the kids in them."
