Chester school friends raise incredible £1k for Children in Need
A group of six buddies from Chester went above and beyond to lend their support to this year's Children in Need fundraiser.
The children who are eight years old from Upton Health CE Primary School got ready for their sponsored walk called 'Walk to the Border' for the charity Children in Need. They wore boots designed for walking and ears which looked like Pudsey's to go on their adventure. The group raised an amazing £1,000 for the charity which is run by the BBC.
The students of Upton Heath CE Primary School accomplished raising funds of £1,000 for Children in Need via a walk that they sponsored.
The students in Year 4 were able to exceed their goal of raising £500 by completing a walk along the Millennium Greenway. They walked from Kingsway to the Welsh border and back, covering an impressive distance of almost nine miles.
The young ladies came together with their loved ones, including their furry companions, and were motivated to collect funds for a remarkable non-profit organization. They were touched by the difficulties that some children who are not as privileged as them have to endure.
The children of Upton Heath CE Primary School collected £1,000 for Children in Need as a result of their sponsored walk.
The students enthusiastically accepted the task, which took nearly four hours to finish. They surpassed their original goal for raising funds and the amount is still increasing!
The organization BBC Children in Need diligently supports children and young individuals across the UK who face various issues. They do this by providing monetary support to numerous nearby charities and undertakings.

In November, the SPOTacular appeal by Children in Need motivates people from different communities in the UK to unite, gather money and demonstrate their backing - much like the Upton Heath girls did. Children in Need, affiliated with the BBC, is a firm believer that all children should have the opportunity to succeed and achieve their maximum potential.
Although their legs were sore and they were feeling exhausted after a day filled with walking, the Upton Heath girls (along with their support team) felt overjoyed with the outcome of their fundraising walk. The wide grins on their faces spoke volumes about their feelings as they reached the end of the journey.
