Canning Town: Seven hospitalised after fire at construction site

A blaze erupted at a construction area in east London, resulting in the hospitalization of seven individuals.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) said that around 70 firefighters were requested to tackle a fire close to Silvertown Way in Canning Town at approximately 08:20 BST. Ten fire engines were also dispatched to the scene.

A single individual was rescued from the building's second level. The London Fire Brigade reported that seven individuals were transported to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, while three others received medical attention at the location.

There was a fire at a construction site that had 10 floors. The fire started on the ground floor of a commercial unit.

Someone was spotted standing at the brink of a crane amidst smoke during the fire.

The video captured massive dark smoke rising amidst tall buildings.

According to the spokesperson of the LFB, there is a considerable abundance of smoke coming out from the fire. The individuals situated in the vicinity are recommended to shut their windows and doors and steer clear of the affected region if feasible.

It was reported that a ladder measuring 64 meters from the brigade had been sent to the location.

The squad got over 30 notifications about the blaze.

According to the spokesperson, fire stations in the Plaistow, Poplar, and East Ham areas, as well as nearby stations, are sending firefighters to the location.

Silvertown Way, also known as A1011, is currently unavailable for use between A13 Canning Town Flyover and Hallsville Road due to road closure.

The London Fire Brigade stated that the reason behind the fire has not been determined yet.

The incident prompted the dispatch of ten fire trucks to the location.
