A fresh preview for the highly anticipated Beetlejuice reboot directed by Tim Burton has provided enthusiasts with a sneak peek at brand-new personas portrayed by actors Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux.
Burton's much-loved scary comedy movie Beetlejuice from 1988 will be followed by its sequel and is due to release in theaters on the 6th of September.
In the latest trailer, it has been confirmed that Charles, the head of Deetz family portrayed by Jeffrey Jones in the previous movie, has passed away.
In the follow-up, Winona Ryder returns to play Lydia Deetz once again. This time, Lydia is grown up and has a daughter named Astrid, portrayed by Jenna Ortega who gained popularity after her role in Wednesday.
After Charles passed away, Astrid called Beetlejuice. Michael Keaton took on the role again, which he is well-known for.
Catherine O'Hara, the actress from Schitt's Creek, is reprising her role as Delia Deetz, Lydia's mother.
There are some new actors joining the cast, such as Bellucci, who portrays the spouse of Beetlejuice, Dafoe, who acts as the creepy Wolf Jackson, and Justin Theroux playing the role of a person called Rory.
Arthur Conti, from House of the Dragon, is set to make his first appearance in a feature film as part of the cast.
Burton recently announced that his upcoming sequel was influenced by his personal evolution "from a fashionable adolescent to an uninteresting grown-up."
At 65 years old, the director famous for Edward Scissorhands shared with Entertainment Weekly the unusual sensation of seeing Keaton once again donned in the iconic outfit and makeup.
Burton shared that he was amazed to see how quickly the person got back into the activity despite not initially showing much enthusiasm for it. However, the experience was quite intimidating, and Burton likened it to being possessed by a demon. Nevertheless, seeing the entire cast come together was a beautiful sight.

He mentioned that he and Keaton had talked about making a sequel for a long time, but unless they felt it was a good idea, they weren't eager to do it.
Burton went on to say that they all shared a similar sentiment. The project had to have an emotional tug to make sense.
According to him, they discovered the hook in Astrid, a character in Ortega's work.
Burton expressed that they strongly related to the Lydia character. However, as time passed, they embarked on their own personal journey, oscillating between being a trendy teenager to being an uncool adult. This gave the story an emotional connection and solid base, which captivated Burton and drew them into the narrative.
Burton expressed to The Independent that his passion for film-making was reignited as a result of his work on the sequel of Beetlejuice in the previous year.
“In regards to Beetlejuice 2, I found it to be incredibly satisfying,” he expressed. “My goal was to take away all the excess and return to the fundamental elements of collaborating with skilled colleagues, talented performers, and creating incredible puppets. Essentially, it was a return to the roots of what inspired my passion for filmmaking.”
