There won't be an airing of The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4 tonight (17 October) like it typically airs on Tuesdays at 8pm.

The fourth episode of the competition show will be rescheduled to Wednesday (October 18) since there's a 2024 Euro qualifiers game between England and Italy tonight. The game will be shown on Channel 4 from 7 PM to 10:15 PM while the game itself will commence at 7:45 PM.

The person who broadcasts the content made an update on social media platform X, stating that there is a notable news to be shared. They mentioned that the football game will be aired tonight, which means that the scheduled programs, Bake Off and Don’t Look Down, will be moved to the following night.

We're putting this up now to prevent receiving a plethora of messages at 8pm questioning why Wembley has replaced the Bake Off Tent.

Although a few supporters appreciated receiving the information in advance, individuals who are not interested in sports did not express satisfaction.

"Oh no, I won't be able to watch on Wednesday. Baking is more important to me than sports!" a fan expressed their disappointment.

"Oh my god! Why is everyone so obsessed with football? There are many of us who don't care at all about England's football match. Let's be honest, they're not that great." expressed another person with anger.

One person made a humorous comment saying that the only England versus Italy event they were interested in was when Giuseppe, who won season 12 of Bake Off, was in the finale.

The 14th season of Bake Off has already witnessed three bakers waving goodbye. Amos was the initial contestant to leave, followed by Keith and, recently, Abbi.

Alison Hammond is the newest host of the most recent series. She has replaced Matt Lucas, who left the show after the 2022 series. The This Morning personality now joins Noel Fielding, who has been on the show for six years.

In the meantime, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith have returned as the judges.

After facing criticism in recent years for “Japan Week” in 2020, “German Week” in 2021, and “Mexican Week” in 2022, the show has decided to do away with episodes centered around national dishes. Some viewers found fault with how presenters, judges, and contestants portrayed these countries and its peoples, feeling that it emphasized negative stereotypes and could be interpreted as “casual racism”.

In the upcoming fourth episode of the latest series, the contestants will be challenged to showcase their abilities in crafting confectionaries during Chocolate Week.

The show Bake Off will be back on Channel 4 at 8pm on Wednesday. After that, it will be airing on its usual day of Tuesday.
