Andy Murray's start to his expected last Wimbledon didn't go very well as he was defeated in the initial round of the Stuttgart Open.

The Wimbledon winner, who has triumphed twice at SW19, traveled to Germany to prepare for his upcoming home grand slam tournament that starts in the following month. However, he was defeated by Marcos Giron in a 6-3 6-4 match.

Murray's hopes were shattered as the outcome turned out to be the opposite of what he desired. This may mark the concluding phase of the remarkable 37-year-old tennis star's profession as he revealed his inclination towards retiring this summer.

He will make a comeback in London to participate in Queen's, where he showcased his exceptional performance for an extended period throughout his career. His objective is to have a lengthier presence in this tournament compared to his previous performance in Germany.

He was not performing well in comparison to his opponent ranked 54th in the world and had to defend himself from losing early points. However, he was eventually defeated in the fifth game when his opponent managed to break his serve.

The Scottish player had no chance of turning the match around, and the moment when his opponent broke his serve in the third game of the second set marked the conclusion of the game for the experienced player.

This signifies that Jack Draper who is the second highest ranked British player was able to dodge a match against another British player in the second round and will instead face Giron.
