Alisha Lehmann: Aston Villa winger completes move to Juventus and joins Douglas Luiz in Turin

Alisha Lehmann has moved to Juventus, saying goodbye to her former team Aston Villa in the WSL.

Lehmann is the second player to join Juventus Women's team in the Women's Super League this week. Hanna Bennison, who previously held the record signing for Everton, also made the move to Juventus on Wednesday.

Alisha played in 74 games for Aston Villa, scoring 14 goals. The club released a statement thanking her for her time with the team and wishing her luck in the future.

The Swiss player will be joining her partner Douglas Luiz in transferring to Turin. They were both teammates at Villa before Luiz made his move to Juventus on June 30th.

Lehmann departs Villa after spending three seasons and participating in seven consecutive seasons in the WSL. Before joining Villa, she played for West Ham and Everton. She still had two years remaining on her existing contract, with the possibility of extending for another year.

What Is The Start Date Of The 2024/25 WSL Season?

The upcoming season of the Women's Super League is set to kick off on the weekend of September 21 and 22, 2024.

The important dates for the top two leagues in women's football next season have been announced. The Barclays Women's Championship will begin two weeks earlier on the weekend of September 7 and 8.

The holiday break will start from December 16 to January 18, while the WSL season will finish on either May 10 or May 11, 2025.

The upcoming WSL season kicks off 42 days after the women's Olympic Games gold medal match.

Team Great Britain did not make it to the Paris tournament because England did not do well in the Nations League. However, the United States, Brazil, and France are some of the teams that did qualify.

On another note, the dates for the 2024/25 Women's League Cup have also been announced. The group stage will take place from early October to mid-December. The final match is set to be played on the weekend of March 15 and 16, 2025.
