Djokovic vs. Alcaraz Olympic Final LIVE: Scores, updates, highlights, news, from the Men’s gold medal match in Paris

Alcaraz

The Olympic tennis tournament comes to an end today with an exciting match between Novak Djokovic, the record-holder for most men's tennis titles from Serbia, and the up-and-coming star Carlos Alcaraz from Spain.

Although they both have the same objective of winning their first Olympic gold medal, they are at different points in their careers when they arrive at the Games.

Alcaraz, who is just 21 years old, has already won four Grand Slam titles, with his latest victory being at the French Open in May. He made a big impact in tennis at the young age of 16 and has since proven himself to be a rising star in the sport. If he manages to win the gold medal, he will set a new record as the youngest Olympic singles champion and will join the ranks of Steffi Graf and Rafael Nadal in achieving victories at the French Open, Wimbledon, and Olympic games all in the same year.

Even though Djokovic has won many awards and honors in his career, he still hasn't been able to win an Olympic gold medal. Some believe that he should have won one by now. Djokovic's best Olympic achievement so far is a bronze medal in 2008, out of his five appearances in the Games. At 37 years old, Djokovic is the oldest player to make it to the Olympic men's singles final since tennis was added back to the Games in 1988. The upcoming Olympics in Paris might be his final chance to win a medal. If he succeeds, Djokovic will achieve a "Golden Slam" in singles, which means he will have won all four Grand Slam titles and an Olympic gold. Becoming a "Golden Slam" champion would put Djokovic among a select group of tennis players who have achieved this, including Steffi Graff (GER), Andre Agassi (USA), Nadal (ESP), and Serena Williams (USA).

The two players are currently tied in their head-to-head matchups, but Alcaraz emerged victorious in their most recent meeting at the men's singles final at Wimbledon, defeating Djokovic convincingly in three sets.

As Alcaraz enters the clay court as a young player, Djokovic arrives with a champion's last opportunity for success, which is even more powerful.

This is a dream that I have held onto for a long time and fought hard for. I have always wanted to compete in the final round of the Olympic Games. It is a great privilege and honor to represent my country on a global stage. I am proud to say that Serbia will have a medal on Sunday!!! Let's goooo ???????????????????????? #excited
