I have written extensively about Wordle in various blog posts which include covering its 1,000th word, sharing my top picks for the best starter words, providing a helpful two-step strategy, and discussing controversial word changes. Additionally, I shared my personal experience playing the popular online word puzzle for a year. In case you're reconsidering your desire for the accurate solution, you can try following some of the advice provided in those pieces.

Do you need help coming up with a starting word? A suggestion I received was to pick out a five-letter item you see nearby, like a COUCH or a CHAIR. However, I prefer to select starting words that contain the most frequently used letters in the English language. Personally, I find TRAIN to be a great choice, although I know someone who opts for TRAIL. While some people suggest using the financial term ROATE, I prefer to go with words that I am familiar with.

If you've made it this far, then you definitely understand how to participate. Your mission is to correctly guess a five-letter term in six attempts, and the game will notify you how many of the letters you've identified are included in the word and indicate if they occur in the same sequence as you guessed. In 2022, The New York Times created an agreement to purchase the game from Josh Wardle, its inventor, for an unconfirmed seven-digit evaluation. Wardle came up with the game for his partner, who assisted him in isolating the 2,500 words from a possible 12,000 that were suitable for the database of responses. Additionally, it was a stroke of fate that his name played on the word "word."

The representative from the Times informed me that the initial instance of Wordle being published was on June 19, 2021, and the newspaper commemorated its 1,000th word on March 15. Just so you know, the 1,000th word was ERUPT. For instance, a sentence using this word could be, "My father will go into a frenzy if he is unable to maintain his winning streak due to a challenging Wordle."

The Times Games collection has a variety of entertaining games to choose from. Recently, I've become hooked on Connections, a game that I find more challenging than Wordle. The objective is to categorize 16 words into four groups based on their relationships with one another. The connections between these words can be quite unconventional at times - for instance, I once had to group four words that all started with the names of rock bands, such as "Rushmore" and "journeyman." (On April Fools' Day, Connections featured an all-emoji puzzle, which some players did not find amusing.)

The Times game, Spelling Bee, is quite famous. As of now, I am working on becoming an expert in the new game, called Strands, which is currently in beta stage.
