Push shot or not? Jak Jones pot against Stuart Bingham in World Championship semi-final raises eyebrows - Eurosport

Jak Jones

Jones put the red ball in the pocket, which made some wonder if it was a push shot.

Even though the semi-final match between Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones didn't have the same level of excellence compared to the previous match between Kyren Wilson and David Gilbert, it was still extremely intense.

At the beginning of every session, Bingham started quickly, possibly with the goal of making things difficult for his younger competitor.

Jones took the lead for the very first time in Friday's second session and planned to continue advancing.

Jones was winning by a score of 7 to 6, however, the opponent was ahead by a significant margin of 36 points and only one red ball remained on the table. Jones faced a difficult shot as the cue ball was very close to the object ball.

Jones evaluated his choices and decided to make a pot, but the noise from the cue hitting the ball wasn't clear. This caused concerns that he may have performed a push shot.

Joe Johnson, while commentating on Eurosport, noticed a doubtful noise.

Johnson remarked that it appeared to be a push shot, however, the call was not made and hence they continued playing.

The snooker deities seem to be having a good time as Bingham skillfully pockets a red ball but unfortunately sinks the cue ball too.

The camera moved over to Bingham sitting in his seat with an inquisitive expression, while the referee Marcel Eckardt was also being filmed by the cameras.

Are we unsure about whether it was a push shot or not? We are remaining neutral, so it's up to you to decide for yourself.
