‘It’s why we went abroad’: Kane relishes semi-final clash with Real’s Bellingham

Harry Kane believes that the upcoming Champions League semi-final match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid is proof that he and Jude Bellingham made the right choice in pursuing their football careers in Europe.

In just under two weeks, two very famous English football players will be facing off against each other because their respective club teams managed to defeat Arsenal and Manchester City. The game will take place at Wembley Stadium, a familiar location for both players. Kane is pleased about going up against his fellow international teammate, who has been having an amazing season since transferring from Borussia Dortmund to Spain in June.

Kane expressed his joy for his teammate's success but acknowledged that their upcoming match will not be easy. Both players ventured overseas to participate in high-pressure games like the Champions League semi-finals. Kane anticipates a thrilling game that English fans will undoubtedly tune into.

Bayern deserved to win 1-0 against Arsenal, with Joshua Kimmich earning the goal in the second half. Kane expressed his delight over the victory against a team he has a well-known rivalry with. Despite Arsenal proving to be a difficult opponent, Kane acknowledged the extra support from the crowd which gave them a 5% boost and enabled them to find a way to win.

Kane had high admiration for Thomas Tuchel, who briefly led Bayern and may still come out victorious. Tuchel took on the role of manager in March 2023, but during a lackluster domestic season, it was revealed in February he would depart once the current campaign concludes.

"He's really pleased with our performance," he expressed. "I've mentioned previously that we'll support Thomas throughout his tenure, up until the season's end. He's exerted all his effort to lead us towards success in this tournament, and we believe we can unite and end his term here in a commendable manner."

The camaraderie is crucial. We haven't had enough of it during the Bundesliga this season, but we've had it during the Champions League. Therefore, we must have more of it during the upcoming semi-final.

The upcoming semi-final match will become more exciting with the prospect of playing at Wembley. "Since Wembley is the national stadium, it gives us added motivation," he stated, emphasizing the special reward that awaits him or Bellingham. However, they still have two challenging games to face before the semi-final. Bayern will face Union Berlin and Eintracht Frankfurt before hosting the first leg. While they cannot win the league anymore, they are still in a dispute with Stuttgart for second place. So, it is crucial for them to concentrate on the upcoming fixtures.
