Well-known UK rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly has been taken into custody in Australia on charges of rape and assault.

Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, a 29-year-old internet personality, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 9. He faces three charges of assault causing bodily harm and four charges of sexual penetration without consent.

He is also facing a charge of obstructing someone’s breathing or blood flow by putting pressure on their neck.

Mr. Barrientos is presently touring Australia. The supposed incident involving a woman in her twenties occurred on September 28 in a hotel room in Perth, following a show at the nightclub Bar120 on September 27.

He was taken into custody in Brisbane and brought to Perth on Wednesday, October 8th. He is still being held.

According to ABC Australia, Mr. Barrientos has engaged the services of Perth lawyer Seamus Rafferty SC to represent him.

Police prosecutor Julius Depetro contested his request for bail.

The prosecution presented the magistrate with photos showing the woman's injuries, which were reportedly inflicted by Mr. Barrientos. They stated that "no reasonable person could give consent in such a situation."

"Her body bears the marks of a violent past... The images we have seen and the accusations made are shocking, far beyond anything that could ever be seen as consensual."

The Independent has reached out to Mr. Barrientos's representative in the UK for a statement.

Mr. Barrientos was born in Cali, Colombia, and relocated to the UK with his family during his childhood. They initially settled in Orpington, Kent, before moving to south-east London, where he developed an interest in the local grime music scene.
