Watch: Wild Thang is officially the world's ugliest dog

Wild Thang was named the ugliest dog in the world after five attempts.

The Pekingese dog who was eight years old participated in the 2024 Sonoma-Marin Fair held in Petaluma, California. The event was the World's Ugliest Dog competition.

He competed against seven opponents, most of whom were rescued dogs that were adopted from shelters before finding loving families.

Wild Thang, along with his owner Ann Lewis, will be awarded $5,000 and will make an appearance on NBC's The Today Show.

A 14-year-old pug named Rome, who uses a wheelchair, won $3,000 for coming in second place in his first-ever competition.
