Tips For Solving Today's Wordle Game
The Clue: Poor decoration.
The Hint: This Wordle starts with a consonant letter.
Each day, I use Wordle Bot to review my guesses in the game. You can also analyze your Wordle results using Wordle Bot right here.
Are you able to figure out the phrase for today?
I managed to do quite well even though my start was rough. My first guess, GRIEF, was a poor choice, and I was left with a staggering 561 possible solutions. Then I used CLOAK, which narrowed it down to just three options: WACKY, TACKY, and HACKY. I didn’t consider HACKY, so it felt like I was just taking a shot in the dark. Not really in a WACKY or TACKY mood today, I opted for what seemed like the more probable choice—and I was right! TACKY turned out to be the winning word!
I earn 1 point for making a correct guess within three tries, and I score 0 points if I end up tied with the Bot. On 2XP Fridays, those points are doubled, making it a 2-point game. Yay!
Tips For Playing Competitive Wordle
The term "tacky" first appeared in the United States in the early 1800s, where it originally referred to something that was sticky or adhesive, similar to the tackiness found in glue. As time went on, its meaning expanded to describe items or styles that were inexpensive, flashy, or lacking in taste. This shift likely stemmed from the idea of something that is uncomfortably sticky or of inferior quality. By the 20th century, this metaphorical usage became widespread, leading to the contemporary understanding of "tacky" as something that is seen as lacking sophistication or style.
