The fiery match between West Brom and Wolves in the FA Cup came to a stop during the 82nd minute due to a severe outbreak of fan violence, which is one of the most terrible incidents to occur in the stadium in recent times.

After clashes between fans of opposing teams, some away fans managed to enter the home section. As a result, children were escorted onto the field for safety reasons.

The stewards and police have a physical confrontation with supporters.

The passion on a derby day is impressive, as is the intensity, but this type of excess behavior is unacceptable in every way possible. The situation is becoming increasingly unpleasant.

The Twitter account @itvfootball posted a tweet on January 28, 2024 regarding a blog section.

The police engaged in intense confrontations with fans, causing Gary O'Neil to remove his Wolves team from the field, leading to a temporary suspension of the game.

There was a disturbance at the Halfords Lane End, close to the Birmingham Road End, where it seemed that West Brom fans were aiming at the Wolves players. The trouble started very close to the area set aside for families, and this caused an instant concern regarding their security.

During the recent football match, something shocking occurred that we haven’t seen in years – it was reminiscent of the really terrible hooliganism from way back in the 70s and 80s. There was a Wolves supporter who had obviously been badly injured, and the police were leading him away from the field. Apparently, some people in the West Brom area even spat on him while he was being taken to receive medical help.

Over 70 police officers hurried to where the fight was happening, and it seemed that some supporters were bothering the cops. O'Neil signaled to his team to go back to the locker room, and Kyle Bartley, a defender for Albion, escorted his little kids away from the disturbance.

Albion fans threw bottles towards the travelling supporters of the Wolves near the area where they were seated. Just before this event, two flares were also thrown by the visiting side after scoring a goal. The match was stopped at approximately 1:24pm when Wolves were winning with a 2-0 score.

After managing to stop the violent behavior, the individual in charge of announcing at the stadium declared: "In order for the game to proceed, everyone needs to go back to their designated seating areas."

It is up to the clubs to ensure that there is adequate security in and around the stadium. Unfortunately, West Brom and possibly Wolves may face penalties due to security concerns. The Football Association reviewed the situation, and working with the referee and safety officer, decided to restart the match at 1:59 pm. The time on the match clock was reset to 77:10 when the second goal was scored by Wolves.

The match delay caused the FA Cup fifth round draw to be rescheduled. It was supposed to happen at 2:15pm, but now it will happen during half-time in Liverpool's 2:30pm game against Norwich.
