Wimbledon 2024: Day 2 order of play and schedule - Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Iga Swiatek in action - Eurosport

Wimbledon 2024

Some big-name players will be competing on Tuesday at Wimbledon, as the top tennis stars fight for victory in the third major tournament of the year.

Seven-time winner Novak Djokovic and five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek are the top players on the second day of the tournament, with 12 British players also scheduled to compete at the All England Club.

The top 10 competitors like Alex de Minaur, Hubert Hurkacz, Andrey Rublev, and Alexander Zverev will be participating in the men's tournament. Jessica Pegula, Elena Rybakina, and Marketa Vondrousova are also starting their matches in the upcoming event.

Exciting Men's Match: Kopriva Vs Djokovic

Djokovic is starting his quest for an eighth Wimbledon championship on Tuesday as he faces off against the 123rd ranked player in the world, Vit Kopriva.

The Serbian gave up his Wimbledon title last year to Alcaraz when he missed out on winning all the Grand Slam tournaments. However, he has the chance to tie Roger Federer's record for most titles if he wins back the crown this year.

Djokovic, who is 37 years old, did not have a good start to the season. He did not make it to the final of the Australian Open, where he was hoping for his 11th title, and had to withdraw from the French Open in the quarterfinals because of an injury.

He hasn't competed since pulling out of Roland-Garros, but he's prepared to make a comeback at the tournament where he secured four consecutive victories from 2018 to 2022.

Women's Top Match: Swiatek Vs Kenin

The player who won the French Open, Swiatek, is now aiming for her first win at Wimbledon. She hopes to add a sixth Grand Slam title to her collection.

Swiatek has been on top at Roland-Garros in the past few years, but her only other big win was at the US Open in 2022. The young player from Poland must be excited about the opportunity to win another major title at such a young age.

In her debut match at Wimbledon, she will face off against American competitor Sofia Kenin on Tuesday. Kenin is currently ranked 48 spots lower than the top-ranked player in the world, Swiatek.

Swiatek is on fire as she enters the tournament, winning the French Open after triumphing at the Italian Open and Madrid Open.

Many people are excited about the home match happening on Tuesday at Wimbledon. Andy Murray will be playing against Tomas Machac, and it could be his last time playing singles at the tournament. The game will take place on Centre Court.

Cameron Norrie will be playing against Facundo Diaz Acosta from Argentina. Jack Draper is set to compete against Elias Ymer from Sweden.

In other matches, Katie Boulter and Harriet Dart are competing against Tatjana Maria and Zhuoxuan Bai in their first-round matches.

Dan Evans is one of the British players who will start competing at Wimbledon in their own country.
