“The sky is the limit…” First look teaser trailer drops for ‘Wicked’

‘Wicked’ is arriving on the big screen as a spectacular movie this November, after enjoying two successful decades on stage as a beloved musical. Viewers can catch the first-look teaser trailer of this generation-defining movie now.

The story that hasn't been told about the Witches of Oz features Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a woman with green skin who is often misunderstood and hasn't yet realized her true abilities. Ariana Grande plays Glinda, a privileged and ambitious woman who has yet to discover her true personality and feelings. Both Erivo and Grande have won numerous awards for their talents in acting and music.

The two individuals first met in college at Shiz University in the mythical Land of Oz and create an improbable yet meaningful bond. After coming into contact with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship faces a crucial decision, leading them down disparate routes. Glinda is fixated on being well-liked, which results in her being lured by authority; conversely, Elphaba is unwavering in her resolve to be genuine to herself and the people she cares for, and this decision will have unforeseen and alarming impacts on what lies ahead. Their remarkable excursions throughout Oz culminate in Glinda becoming the Good Witch and Elphaba becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, fulfilling their ultimate purposes.

Jon M. Chu directs a star-studded cast including Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James and Keala Settle.
