Great British Bake Off reveals 2023 winner in grand final
The instructor who teaches both PE and science in Cambridgeshire was an unexpected competitor this season. He even referred to himself as "the dark horse" as he approached the semi-final stage.
According to a special survey on RadioTimes.com, the majority of audiences had predicted Josh to emerge as the champion. However, it was Matty who stole the show with his outstanding Showstopper performance, following a remarkable execution in the Signature challenge.
After his victory, Matty expressed his disbelief by saying, "I'm lost for words. When people suggested that I should apply for Bake Off, I brushed it off and didn't think much of it. I never even imagined that I would actually make it onto the show, let alone come out as the winner!"
Josh and Dan, who were also finalists, wasted no time in extending their congratulations to him.
"I'm really happy for Matty - he's always been fantastic when it comes to baking, he deserves to win, and he's also a really nice guy," exclaimed Josh.
Dan expressed his intuition that Matty would emerge victorious. It happened on the day of the competition and he sincerely feels delighted for the young lad. Dan's affection for Matty is profound.
Matty has made it to the final of the Great British Bake Off in 2023.

Prue expressed her admiration for Matty, noting that she had never encountered a more joyful, agreeable, and accommodating baker. She further added that he was thoroughly enjoying his time, absorbing all that he could and heeding both of their instructions.
After winning, Matty expressed his admiration for the other two finalists, Josh and Dan. He also mentioned that although they were naturally competitive, they supported and respected each other. He believes that none of them would have been resentful of the winner, regardless of who it was.
