Who left Strictly 2024? Sixth celebrity to be voted out revealed
The inaugural Icons Week of Strictly Come Dancing featured impressive scores, impressive lifts, extravagant outfits, and, of course, several blunders from Pete Wicks during the Week 7 episode that aired last night (Saturday, November 2nd).
As we progress further into the competition, the Strictly 2024 roster is becoming smaller each week, and everyone is focused on winning the Glitterball trophy.
JB Gill and Tasha Ghouri stole the spotlight on Saturday night with their remarkable Couple's Choice performances, each achieving an impressive score of 39 points. This outstanding result placed them at the top of the Strictly leaderboard, tied for the highest score.
On the opposite side of the scale, Pete was left with only 22 points. He impressed the judges with his portrayal of Freddie Mercury, but struggled with several of the dance moves in his Salsa routine to "Another One Bites the Dust."
As we approached tonight’s results show, things didn’t seem too hopeful for Pete. He even made a joke on Saturday about how the title of his song might turn out to be a bit of a joke itself. However, he wasn't the only contestant who appeared at risk of ending up in the dance-off.
Sam Quek and Chris McCausland were tied for second-to-last place on the leaderboard, each with 29 points. This meant they had to depend on their supporters to call and vote for them to stay in the competition.
However, there was an unexpected twist when it came to the outcomes.

Gladiator Montell Douglas and her dance partner Johannes Radebe received an impressive score of 35 for their waltz during Icons Week, performing to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You." However, they found themselves in the dance-off against Sam and her partner Nikita Kuzmin, highlighting just how favored Pete is among the audience!
Sam and Nikita danced the American Smooth again, while Montell and Johannes returned to the floor to showcase their Waltz once more.
When the judges had to choose which couple to keep, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton du Beke all decided to save Montell and Johannes. As a result, Sam and Nikita were sent home.
Elimination in Week 7 of Strictly on BBC
Head Judge Shirley Ballas concurred and mentioned that she would have made the same voting decision as her fellow judges.
When Tess Daly inquired about her experience on the show, Sam expressed her disappointment: "I'm really sad about it, and I just want to express my gratitude. I've gained a lot of knowledge. Strictly has truly brought back my enthusiasm. It’s been a total delight."
"Nikita, you've played a crucial role in helping me reconnect with the inner Sam that had been a bit dormant for a year or two but is now resurfacing. It’s disappointing because I believe I still have a lot to offer," she said.
Professional dancer Nikita expressed her admiration, saying, "I’m truly amazed by this girl. People often say that what matters is the journey rather than the end goal, but for me, it’s really about who you’re with. Sam, you’ve been the best companion I could have asked for."
Sam added, "I often catch myself observing my competitors and wondering, 'What’s the secret to their relationship as a celebrity and a dancer?'"
What I can express is that the moments you share together and the qualities you draw out from one another are truly special. It might sound a bit cliché, but it's like magic.
