Wayne Rooney has raised worries about his well-being after appearing to look quite unwell while observing Manchester United's loss to Tottenham yesterday.
The legendary player from United and England was seen in the stands at Old Trafford while watching his old team suffer a 3-0 defeat. He appeared noticeably dissatisfied with how they played.
Rooney, 38, has been feeling positive lately after leading Plymouth Argyle to two victories in their last four Championship matches, giving a lift to their efforts to stay in the league.
Nevertheless, his health just three years after he hung up his boots has raised concerns among fans.
Sky Sports posted a picture of Rooney dressed in a black coat while he was watching United, and many users promptly encouraged him to prioritize his health.
Wayne Rooney raised alarms about his well-being when a picture of him circulated on social media.
Rooney, who is currently the manager of Plymouth Argyle, stepped away from playing professional football in 2021 to pursue a coaching career.
"Someone commented, 'He looks awful.'"
"Stay strong, Wayne," another person remarked, possibly with a hint of humor.
"One person commented, 'Rooney seems older than he really is. He should focus on looking after himself.'"
Another commenter said, "He seems a bit too old," followed by a crying emoji.
"Is he having trouble breathing? He looks really red," a fifth person inquired, genuinely worried.
In 2022, Rooney admitted that he only had a single suit that still fit him well after Jamie Carragher poked fun at his looks during Sky's Monday Night Football.
Carragher observed that Rooney was sporting the identical suit, shirt, and tie he had worn during his induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame just two weeks earlier.
X users encouraged Rooney to prioritize his health after seeing him at Old Trafford.
Rooney has talked about his struggle to keep from gaining weight throughout his career.
Rooney replied, "You know what? There's a reason for that."
Clearly, I've gained a bit of weight over the past year. Right now, this is the only suit that fits me, so I need to make the best of it.
Rooney has shared his struggles with weight gain throughout his successful playing career. In his 2012 book, *My Decade In The Premier League*, he mentioned, “Like many guys, I tend to gain a little weight after going on vacation.”
"Even if I take a week off from exercising, I end up gaining two or three pounds."
