Evil penguin Feathers McGraw to return in new Wallace and Gromit film
During the upcoming Christmas season, the malevolent penguin named Feathers McGraw is set to make a comeback in a complete feature film of Wallace and Gromit.
On Thursday, the BBC released a preview for the show Vengeance Most Fowl. In the clip, the antagonist's personal items such as his keys, comb, tape measure, and glove are confiscated and placed into a container by a guard. Afterwards, the villain enters a cell and the guard is seen turning his head to crack his neck.
The initial sighting of McGraw occurred in the short film, The Wrong Trousers, which won both a Bafta and an Oscar in 1993.
He disguised himself as a chicken wearing a red glove on his head to rent a room, but was caught trying to steal a valuable diamond, leading to his arrest and transfer to a zoo.
The protagonist will come back to retaliate against the creator named Wallace and his devoted pet dog, Gromit.
Director Nick Park, who is famous for creating Wallace and Gromit, has announced that he has chosen to reintroduce the antagonist that he previously wrote. This decision was sparked by the overwhelming requests from fans who were eagerly anticipating the villain's return.
He mentioned that the most common question he receives when encountering fans is this one.
"It was enjoyable to feature him in small roles before, but after 30 years, it just felt appropriate to have him back," he expressed.
Earlier, it was disclosed that the movie will showcase the growth of Wallace's creation of an intelligent garden gnome, which appears to have its own consciousness.
Park spoke on, "I suddenly realized - could it be possible that Feathers had some sort of involvement with these gnomes?"
He stated: "Our expectations are that this movie will attract followers of 'Gnome Noir' from all over and viewers will feel pleased after watching Feathers' latest work post The Wrong Trousers."
Ben Whitehead, who has appeared in previous productions featuring Wallace and Gromit, will once again portray the odd and cheese-obsessed inventor hailing from Northern England. This comes after he assumed the role initially played by the now-deceased actor from Last Of The Summer Wine, Peter Sallis.
British funnyman Peter Kay, who played a role in The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, is making a comeback as PC Mackintosh. This time, he's been given a new title of chief inspector. Joining him will be Reece Shearsmith from Inside No. 9 and Lauren Patel, who is known for her work in Everybody's Talking About Jamie.
