Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un have agreed to form a close alliance to strengthen the economic and military connections between Russia and North Korea. They have pledged to collaborate in opposing global sanctions and maintain a cooperative relationship.

According to the blog post, the leader of Russia stated that the latest collaboration comprises an unspecified clause for mutual aid, which would be applicable in the event of any hostile action taken against any of the partners of the agreement.

He stated that Moscow could potentially establish a "military technical collaboration" based on the agreement and urged the United Nations to terminate its imposed sanctions on North Korea.

Putin stated that these unauthorized behaviors only weaken the worldwide economic and political structure. He added that they will keep resisting the enforced penalties that the western world utilizes to maintain its power.

During his first trip to the secluded communist nation in over twenty years, Putin expressed his gratitude to Kim for backing his actions in Ukraine. The welcome he received was luxurious.

The arranged masses of people cheered and danced while holding balloons in the central square of Pyongyang, as Putin and Kim arrived. The square was decorated with large portraits of the two leaders placed beside each other, and a Soviet patriotic song was played to welcome them.

The grandeur and formality of the event, which Putin referred to as a significant new agreement, highlighted how Russia's attack on Ukraine and their mutual hostility towards the United States have strengthened their relationship.

Even though Putin didn't go into specifics about the agreement, he likened it to Nato's provision of long-range weapons and F-16 fighter planes to Ukraine for attacking Russia. This implies that Russia will increase its military alliance with North Korea as a reaction.

Earlier this month, Putin announced that Moscow is contemplating providing far-reaching weaponry to the countries allied with Ukraine located in regions where they can target crucial objectives. However, he did not go into detail regarding this plan.

According to officials in the West, North Korea has provided support to Russia during the Ukraine conflict by providing additional ammunition to make up for the shortage of supplies available in Russia.

The leader of North Korea and the leader of Russia gave presents to each other. Kim received a car called the Aurus limousine which was made in Russia. Putin gave Kim artwork that showed him in different forms, including some sculptures that showed only his head and shoulders. Putin called the artwork "artistic" and "fairly well done."

Kim restated that North Korea fully backs Moscow without any conditions. Additionally, she stated that Russia plays a crucial part in maintaining the equilibrium and stability of the global order.

They got together for roughly two hours after previously meeting during Kim's trip to Russia's Far East in September. During that visit, the two of them explored Russia's top-tier space rocket launch facility.

Putin expressed his desire for Kim to come back to Moscow for another visit.

American and South Korean authorities have a strong conviction that economic transactions and the exchange of weapons between Russia and North Korea have increased significantly since their encounter last year.

On Tuesday, Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state, stated that Russia is making great efforts to establish strong relationships with nations that have the potential to supply it with armaments.

The Nato chief, Jens Stoltenberg, expressed worries regarding the potential backing of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs by Russia, while he was accompanying Blinken in Washington.

North Korea's defense minister, Shin Won-sik, informed Bloomberg that Russia proposed to provide technological assistance for North Korea's spy satellites. In exchange, North Korea agreed to supply approximately 5 million artillery shells.

In the past few years, China has been a major supporter of North Korea's economy. However, they are believed to be concerned about the growing connection between Putin and Kim. This meeting between the two leaders occurred shortly after South Korea and China held a crucial security meeting in Seoul after nine years. They have decided to foster their relationship in a "more grown-up and positive" way.

Specialists have expressed that if Russia provides food and military technology to North Korea, it will be harder to persuade them to join discussions about ending their nuclear program. Additionally, if North Korea continues to transfer arms to Russia, it will increase Ukraine's demand for assistance from their allied countries to strengthen their military capabilities.

Russia prevented the UN panel responsible for ensuring that Security Council sanctions against North Korea are being followed from being renewed in March. As a result of this action, the panel no longer exists.

According to Jenny Town, who is an expert at the Stimson Center, returning to talks with North Korea will be extremely challenging.

According to Leif-Eric Easley, who works as a professor at Ewha Womans University located in Seoul, there are bigger implications to be considered beyond the strengthening of the connection between Russia and North Korea.

He stated that the safeguarding of Ukraine and adherence to UN Security Council decisions is bringing into question the honesty of the global system. Additionally, Moscow possibly breaching UN sanctions by passing on delicate military knowledge to Pyongyang may cause instability in the Korean peninsula and other parts of east Asia.
