Dearest companions, it is with immense sadness that I convey the message from the Jones clan regarding the demise of our treasured Michael Jones. We affectionately knew him by various names such as Virgil, Vincent, and Soul Train Jones, and we will always hold him close to our hearts," expressed Charles.

In the WWE universe, Virgil was famous for being the dedicated bodyguard and helper of Ted DiBiase, also known as the “Million Dollar Man”.

In the past few years, he had been battling severe health problems such as multiple strokes and being diagnosed with dementia.

It was announced on his Instagram account that he had passed away.

We regret to inform you that our dear Meatsauce God and Wrestling Superstar, Virgil/Michael Jones, has passed on. We have a lot of stories to tell about him, but for now, it's hard to accept his loss. Let's remember him for who he was and all the great things he did. Our prayers are with him as he enjoys the heavens' endless supply of pasta. Rest in peace, Mike. We love you.

Virgil, a notable WWE figure who served as a protector for Ted DiBiase, also known as the "Million Dollar Man," has passed away, as per a statement shared on his official Instagram profile.

Jones' birthdate is on June 13, 1962, and he was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania. He started his wrestling career in 1985 using the alias Soul Train Jones, and he mainly worked for the Continental Wrestling Association located in Tennessee.

In 1986, he became a member of WWE and wrestled using the name Lucius Brown. However, he was later renamed as Virgil and became the assistant of Ted DiBiase in the summer of 1987.

During the 1991 Royal Rumble, Virgil betrayed DiBiase, which started a feud that lasted the entire year. Virgil achieved one of the most notable moments of his wrestling profession at the 1991 SummerSlam, where he triumphed over DiBiase for the Million Dollar Championship.

In the year 1994, Jones departed from WWE, then spent about two years carrying out his professional wrestling career independently before ultimately signing up with WCW in 1996. After four years, he withdrew from wrestling, except for showing up sporadically. Jones portrayed the role of Virgil when he made a brief comeback to WWE in 2010, and he became Ted DiBiase Jr.'s protector.

He last showed up in wrestling at AEW in 2019 and 2020, where he made a comeback and was addressed by his initial name, Soul Train Jones.
