TV Actor Vikas Sethi Passes Away, Known For Role In Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

TV star Vikas Sethi, famous for his work in popular TV shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, passed away due to a heart attack on Sunday. Interestingly, he also had a small but significant role as Robbie in Karan Johar's hit movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. It's a lesser-known fact about the talented actor.

Vikas Sethi As Robbie

In the blog, Vikas played the role of Robbie, a guy who goes on a date with Kareena Kapoor's character, Poo aka Pooja. The scene shows Robbie standing next to a cool motorcycle with his friends at Poo's college. He calls out to her and casually asks, “Hey Poo, how about a movie tonight?” Poo replies in her usual sassy way, “Let me know how it goes!” Poo's friends then question why she always acts so aloof towards Robbie, who is quite popular in college. Poo explains, “He's a nice guy, but he's just not my type.”

Robbie appears later as Poo's companion for a dance event. He arrives at the Raichand residence to escort her, and she charms him to incite jealousy in Rohan (Hrithik Roshan), the object of her affection. But once Rohan professes his love for her in front of everyone and they dance to "You Are My Soniya," she leaves Robbie behind at the party.

John Abraham Was Originally Offered Robbie Role

One interesting detail that many may not know is that Karan initially wanted John Abraham to play the role of Robbie. During an episode of Karan's talk show Koffee with Karan in 2004, John shared that Karan had approached him with the offer to play Robbie in the movie K3G. John mentioned that Karan had often given him advice and saw potential in him for the role of Robbie. Despite not ultimately playing the character, John humorously mentioned how he kept looking for Robbie throughout the movie.

John declined the offer, so Vikas Sethi ended up playing Robbie instead. Karan acknowledged that the role was minimal and expressed his regrets to John during the show. He praised John for his success and admitted he never expected him to come so far. Despite the setback, John went on to work in Karan's movies like Kaal (2005) and Dostana (2008).
