Vernon Kay's mother is extremely proud of her son for participating in a challenging ultramarathon, which included walking 115 miles to his native city of Bolton.
The mother of the radio host, residing in Horwich, expressed her pride over the airwaves in detail.
Vernon became extremely emotional when he received a message from his parents while he was participating in a challenging task for the charity event known as Children in Need.
The host of the mid-morning show on BBC Radio 2 wanted to hold back his tears till Friday when he finishes the 115-mile hike. However, he couldn't control his emotions when he received a message from a faithful listener named Barbara earlier.
However, he experienced a surge of emotions once more later in the day.
Gladys, his mother, exclaimed, "You're doing amazing! Pay attention and keep it up!"
"I'm starting to feel overwhelmed by all the love and support you're receiving."
I feel extremely proud.
I feel overwhelmed by the amount of love shown to my son through the comments online and the number of people who adore him. It's filling me up emotionally and I'm grateful for it.
Don't give up, my dear, as I understand your passion for supporting Children in Need, and I am aware that your motivation solely lies in helping these kids.
Send my affection to all the individuals close to you who support you to remain strong.
Alright dear, I will allow you to leave.
Enjoy your baked potato with tuna and take some time to relax.
"Vernon, I have great affection for you and encourage you to continue doing well."
Vernon's father had a concise and straightforward manner of speaking, and offered some astute insights.
Norman advised to obey your mother as she holds the authority.
Vernon stated: "I've been doing that since birth."
Wow, I've cried two times today.

He is presently on the third day of a four-day journey on foot, travelling from Victoria Park in Leicester, which recently hosted Radio 2 in the Park, to Bolton Wanderers' football stadium.
Earlier today, at 9:15am, Vernon had a conversation with Zoe, who hosts Radio 2's Zoe Ball Breakfast Show. During their chat, Zoe disclosed that Vernon's fundraising efforts had generated a fresh sum of £1,391,768.
