Vernon Kay overwhelmed after hearing touching message

Vernon Kay

Your parents are some of the greatest supporters you could have.

Vernon Kay's mother is extremely proud of her son as he takes on a challenging ultramarathon, which involves covering a distance of 115 miles and returning to his birthplace in Bolton.

The mother of the radio host, residing in Horwich, expressed her deep sense of pride while talking on air.

Vernon was filled with strong feelings after receiving a message from his parents while enduring a difficult task to raise money for Children in Need.

The host of BBC Radio 2's mid-morning show had hoped to hold back his tears until Friday, when he finishes a 115-mile journey. However, his emotions took over when he received a message from a devoted listener named Barbara.

However, he experienced another wave of emotions later on that day.

His mother Gladys expressed, "Pay attention, you're performing marvelously."

The outpouring of affection and backing that you are receiving is affecting me emotionally.

I feel extremely proud.

I'm getting emotional because it's overwhelming to see how much love and affection people have for my son. Reading comments about him online and seeing crowds of people supporting him is simply too much to handle.

Don't give up, my dear, because I understand your passion for supporting Children in Need and I am aware that the sole reason for your involvement is to help these children.

Send my affection to everyone surrounding you, providing necessary support to keep you upright.

"All right dear, I will allow you to depart."

Grab that baked potato with tuna and take a break.

"I adore you, Vernon. Maintain your incredible work."

Vernon's father had a succinct and sagacious communication style.

Norman stated that it is important to follow your mother's orders, as she holds the position of authority in the household.

Vernon stated that he has been engaged in that activity since the moment he came into this world.

Oh boy, I've cried twice today.

My mother was weeping on the radio because she felt a strong sense of pride."

Before leaving Leicester to go home, Vernon made a humorous remark that he would visit his parents to have a cup of tea after his triumphant return at the Bolton Wanderers FC Stadium.

He expressed that once he arrives at his destination, he would like to indulge in a steaming cup of tea accompanied by a delicious pasty.

He is currently undertaking a four-day journey on foot. He started three days ago from Victoria Park located in Leicester, which recently hosted Radio 2 in the Park event. His final destination is the football stadium of Bolton Wanderers.

Early today at 9:15 in the morning, Vernon chatted with Zoe through the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2. During their conversation, Zoe disclosed the current sum that Vernon has accumulated is £1,391,768.
